New & Improved: Joe Khirallah

Joe Khirallah is a partner at New & Improved where he brings a keen mind and lively curiosity to everything he does. He specializes in helping disparate groups (both within and across organizations) achieve a common goal, especially in the areas of new product development, problem solving, branding, and marketing strategy. Clients report that Joe's energy and genuine love of people put them immediately at ease, and make them feel quickly understood – an especially beneficial quality in high-stakes situations, such as when two companies need to work out a business deal.

Organizations to benefit from his facilitation and training include: Best Buy; Hewlett-Packard; Intel; Leapfrog Toys; Livescribe; Marine Science Institute; Microsoft; SuperValu; and Tyson Foods. Joe has also worked with technology startups, clean tech businesses, and nonprofit organizations.

Joe is a frequent instructor at the Creative Problem Solving Institute and the CREA Conference in Italy. Prior to focusing on creative thinking and innovation, Joe spent several years in business development; first for Silicon Valley startup Explore Technologies, and then as director for an internal ad agency for the television network Tech TV. Prior to that, he worked in marketing for ten years at IBM and ran his own video production company. He enjoys balancing the left-brain thinking that led him to pursue a degree in math and computer science, with the more associative thinking he brings to bear when facilitating an ideation session.

Joe and his wife Diane live in the San Francisco Bay Area and on Cape Cod, MA. When not working, he can be found at the ocean renewing his own creative spirit by walking, swimming, or kayaking. He is also passionate about combining some of his favorite things – sports, kids, and travel – during volunteer vacations to Baja Mexico to donate sports gear and run clinics with schoolkids. And when stuck in traffic, he engages in recreational math.
